Join us as we launch new programs in response to COVID-19!

Mission:

The Martin Luther King Sr. Community Resources Collaborative works daily to disrupt generational poverty by creating sustainable pathways to economic mobility and empower disenfranchised citizens through social justice reform.

Vision:

It is our vision to improve the quality of life in the community at large through an active, effective, credible social and family support network.

We have created a one-stop-shop resources complex with local, state and national government and social service organizations with a focus on stability, self-sufficiency, and economic mobility through five overlapping lenses: family stability, emotional well-being, educational achievement, financial stability, and employment.

Our Impact:

In 2019, we served 4,164 individuals. We provided direct services to an average of 259 people every month, hosted 395 community members at our annual Hope-Hill back-to-school event, assisted 1,751 people in receiving legally entitled tax rebates through our VITA program, and enrolled 1,759 people in our Atlanta Housing Good Neighbor Program. This represents an increase of 50% people served from our total of 2,776 in 2017.

This year, in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we have prevented evictions for hundreds of families by distributing over $378,000 in rental and utility relief.

Going forward, especially at a time when people's livelihoods have been disrupted by the economic impacts of COVID-19, we are striving to increase our involvement in workforce development programming in the metro-Atlanta area. We believe that lasting, sustainable anti-poverty work needs to address professional development and skills-based learning as well as provide direct assistance. We are currently developing partnerships with IT and technology firms in the metro-Atlanta area to create a new workforce development program in which we will certify low-income and unemployed individuals with in-demand skills that will place them in high-paying careers. We seek to expand our curriculum of courses that can be offered to clients and to deliver these courses digitally, so that they can reach everyone in the community who could benefit. Join us in serving the community by empowering families, moving them to economic mobility, and ending generational poverty!
